This is the start of our annual two-week trip with our ending destination being Utah. However, we had trouble with the Hummer H3 in Oklahoma. We had to leave it with the great guys at Checotah Auto Repair in Checotah, Oklahoma https://www.facebook.com/checotahautorepair/ .

After that, our plans had changed. Therefore, we decided to rent a car and stay a few days in the state while the H3 is repaired. We traveled on east to Red Rock Canyon Adventure Park near Hinton, Oklahoma. https://www.redrockcanyonadventurepark.com/ The next day we explored this amazing state park.

The following day we traveled further south to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. This place was breathtaking. https://www.fws.gov/refuge/Wichita_Mountains/

After that we drove to Medicine Park and had dinner at Riverside Café.

Enjoyed your video. We love going to Medicine Park and the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge two to three times a year. In your research, you mentioned you probably read about the Meers Fault it is a fault in Oklahoma that extends from Kiowa County to Comanche County. It is marked by a 14–16 mile long conspicuous fault scarp but the fault extends beyond the ends of this scarp. The Meers fault is part of a group of faults that lie between the Anadarko Basin and the Wichita Mountains.

This area is our stomping grounds. You should return when the Doris Campground is open and hike more of the trails. 😊😊

We camped at Lake Thunderbird State Park in Norman, OK last week. The Red Rock Canyon seems to be quite beautiful as well! Would like to visit there soon. You guys do some amazing videos with that drone!
And Cody, how come you always have a shining face, man?

  5. Henrik M on September 22, 2022 at 11:30 pm

The name of the lizard is Joe. 😂

  6. Cookie on September 22, 2022 at 11:31 pm

Wow, y’all are hitting all my old stomping grounds. When I was like 2, my parents moved us from Louisiana to SE Oklahoma. So I was in Oklahoma for 11 years of my childhood. If you ever get a chance, or maybe you have, the Quartz Mountain area West, and just North of Lawton OK is one of those hidden gems you find all across this wonderful country. I can tell I am going to enjoy your content, so glad I found your channel.

  7. Adele Hayes on September 22, 2022 at 11:34 pm

The Lizard is called a Bearded Dragon

  8. Joe Thomas on September 22, 2022 at 11:35 pm

We just got stationed at Sheppard AFB. Looking forward to hitting this area up. Just had an idea for you guys. Since this is kind of your thing what if you did a series of armed forces videos. One of the hard parts about us moving so much is finding GOOD SPOTS to hike or camp at. If you guys went to areas near bases it would likely help out some military folks who are looking for local adventure. Anyways, just a thought. Thanks for the vid.

  10. 55stangdude on September 22, 2022 at 11:37 pm

I live 15 min. from the refuge…welcome to my little part of the world. And yes,a collard lizard.

  11. GamerNxUSN on September 22, 2022 at 11:37 pm

From my understanding RRC is no longer a state park. It is in private hands. The state may have just contracted them to run it though.

  13. Ashole Smith on September 22, 2022 at 11:38 pm

    That’s a Common Collared Lizard 🦎 😊

    It’s our state lizard. 🖤

  14. Ron Cooper on September 22, 2022 at 11:38 pm

You were in my neck of the woods! I grew up just down the road from the Refuge. My great-grandparents lived in Medicine Park.

  15. Tim Feeley on September 22, 2022 at 11:42 pm

The lizard’s name is Ed, his parents knew he was going to be slow, so they gave him a name he could spell !

Look at my red dirt home, I was raised 35 miles east of here about one mile west of the Chisholm Trail and one mile east of the 98th meridian, where the west begins. I’ve actually drove cows down the real Chisholm Trail. Who can say that lol.

  18. Notasnowman on September 22, 2022 at 11:43 pm

You should definitely come back to the Wichita’s sometime and spend a couple days. Osage Lake trail is great but there are better ones in my opinion. Definitely a hidden gem that not many people know about.

  19. Rita wilson on September 22, 2022 at 11:44 pm

Wichita Mts is where I hike, camp, and kayak. Thanks for the video. So sweet. The lizard is a Mt. Boomer.

  20. Roger D on September 22, 2022 at 11:46 pm

My dad lived *in* the Wichita Mts near crater lake when he was a kid. I have always loved the Wichita Mtns. Carrie Underwood is from Checotah Ok. Those were the best looking Philly cheesesteak sandwiches I ever saw. Not gonna rest until I either make some or go find one. Liked and subscribed!

  21. Rita wilson on September 22, 2022 at 11:49 pm

Come again to Wichita Mts and hike the 40 ft. Hole. Amazing.

  22. Paytyn The Viking on September 22, 2022 at 11:49 pm

What type of camera are you using?

  23. Travis l Houska on September 22, 2022 at 11:49 pm

    Lizards name is Bob.

  24. Jeff Ccr on September 22, 2022 at 11:51 pm

Surprised nobody mentioned Lost Lake when you were at RedRock . Lake that disappeared over night. Why didnt you hit up Alabaster Caverns State Park and Turnner Falls and Robbers cave Jesse James old hide out

  25. Natasha Medina on September 22, 2022 at 11:53 pm

The lizard’s name is "Baab." Its pronounced "Bob" but has a weird spelling because his parents were hippies.

  26. Ryan Truong on September 22, 2022 at 11:53 pm

Hey guys, what campground were you at at 9:31? I’ve been camping in the Wichita’s for years but have never been to that campground!!

  27. Markus E on September 22, 2022 at 11:55 pm

    That is a Yellow-Headed Blue-Legged Lizard.
At least that’s what I saw, and I am not color blind.

  28. Jake Colvin on September 22, 2022 at 11:56 pm

visited this place a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome. I just found your channel and noticed it seems like you guys are located in Arkansas and as i am located in Springfield Mo many of your destinations are spots i love. Do you guys ever come to the Missouri Ozarks? Bell Mountain Wilderness, Hercules Glades Wilderness, any Ozark National Scenic River way areas, or any other spots? Just curious. I find myself always driving to Arkansas because its close and have to remind myself that i have tons of beautiful Ozark landscape to explore here in Missouri so i wouldn’t blame you if you guys don’t, just a reminder come explore MO

  29. Parks Pursuit on September 22, 2022 at 11:57 pm

Wichita Mountains looks like a very cool place. Very up my alley from a scenic standpoint! Also any chance I get to photography/film bison is a plus!

  30. Lisa Saffell on September 22, 2022 at 11:58 pm

What are you sleeping on? Are those foam mattresses? Looks comfy

  31. TruckPilotNate on September 22, 2022 at 11:59 pm

If you get to go back to the Wichitas, try Charons Garden trail and Crab Eyes trail. It’s a little bit more difficult hike, but the scenery is breathtaking and definitely worth it.

  36. Cory Driver on September 23, 2022 at 12:03 am

Your exhaust broke because you drove through a lot of water? How does that make sense?

  37. punktexas on September 23, 2022 at 12:04 am

    Campers like coffee.

  38. Joy Linder on September 23, 2022 at 12:04 am

    Hey! Welcome to Oklahoma y’all!!
Next time crash down south at Beavers Bend 👍🏻

  39. Amos Chase on September 23, 2022 at 12:06 am

It’s a collard lizard. We always called them Mountain Boomers. I just found your channel and love it. My wife and I enjoy a lot of the same things but being just a little bit older, we do it a little less “rough” (meaning we camp in a trailer).

  40. Clover Hills on September 23, 2022 at 12:07 am

We stumbled across this place while we were at Fort Seal picking up my brother and sister after being deployed in Iraq. Always a happy memory. Enjoyed it SO much.

  41. Robert Corpuz on September 23, 2022 at 12:07 am

Geez?! The way you whip up food! Those cheese steaks tho😋

  42. GamerNxUSN on September 23, 2022 at 12:07 am

Glad I found your Chanel! All the overlanding channels are either in Oregon or Australia, finally glad to have one for my at least close to me. Found out my biological family is from Scranton Arkansas, so will be visiting them this year.

  43. Tim Gallivan on September 23, 2022 at 12:08 am

Just watched the Oklahoma vlog. First off that really sucks what happened to the hummer, yet you still turned it into a positive. Great episode. Just one question. There was a quick shot you did on what looked like a nest of really ugly frightening little spiders. I went to college for a Zoology degree and specialized in herpetology. Reptiles and specifically snakes are a passion. Nothing much bothers me with the exception of arachnids. WHAT THE HELL WERE THOSE? Otherwise awesome vlog!

  44. GamerNxUSN on September 23, 2022 at 12:11 am

If you guys ever head back to the wildlife refuge, you ought to check out Meer’s. Great burgers.

  45. Roger David on September 23, 2022 at 12:15 am
