Trout Fishing Phoenix's Lower Salt River

A short drive from Phoenix, the Lower Salt River provides excellent trout fishing thanks to a robust rainbow trout stocking program from Arizona Game & Fish. Even with temperatures soaring into the 100s the trout bite can be hot as you’ll see in this episode of Pautzke Outdoors.

Awesome video. I love fishing the Salt River. If you ever make it back, just a bit further down stream, just around the corner from where you were, it gets way deeper. You can catch anything there, Largemouth bass, trout, carp, sucker fish, etc.

Thanks for the memories. I fished there when I was a young boy. If you were to go down river where it bends to the west there is a deep pool there and big lunkers just lying there, trout and bass. And big rocks. Give it a try next time. Thanks again. Jim.
