Good tips. Safety first. I agree that comfort is essential. I fish for 5-8 hours straight and there is no way I could do that without a quality seat.

@Fishingwithyakpak I really want to start kayak fishing but have no idea where to start. Should I buy used or new?

how about fishing in an area where there is a lot of saltwater crocodile?

  4. Norcal Bowhunter on March 13, 2021 at 11:33 pm

People have drowned in just inches of water.

  5. fishzmfgo1 on March 13, 2021 at 11:34 pm

I prefer sit ins kayaks over sit on tops because sit ins look nicer in my opinion plus they offer protection from the sun on my legs plenty of room for me to set the hook but I’m fishing mostly for bass and trout on small ponds and rivers good video

  6. Ric Hodge on March 13, 2021 at 11:36 pm

It’s not cheap but I’ve worn my NRS Chinook going down river when it’s been 90 degrees for 4 hours and always felt comfortable

    Sharks breed in the mangroves

  11. J K on March 13, 2021 at 11:41 pm

I know I’m a bit late and probably not the first to mention this, but ALWAYS wear your PFD! If you hit your head when you go in, you can still drown in 2 feet of water! Most PFD’s out there will flip you on your back if you’re not moving to ensure you don’t drown even when knocked out

  12. CCGG262 on March 13, 2021 at 11:42 pm

does water come into your boat from where PDL is when pedaling?

Love the channel and very informative!

  15. MicahaYah Ben-Yahawadah Ben-Yisra'El on March 13, 2021 at 11:47 pm

It is just as easy to drown in one foot of water as it is in 10′. What if you were to hit your head and pass out? Therefore, you should ALWAYS wear your PFD, not have it in the watercraft or car. ALWAYS make safety your number one priority.

  16. Steve Antson on March 13, 2021 at 11:47 pm

It took until 2:49 for the first kayak fishing tip and it wasn’t a fishing tip. It was buying a kayak tip.

  17. Jerry Nowicki on March 13, 2021 at 11:49 pm

Rod leashes and a paddle leash can be important in case you fall in

  18. Claudia Weber on March 13, 2021 at 11:49 pm

I really really hope that you warned those kids swimming in the water behind you, that there was a shark in the water. Good video.

good job, nice day in the shallows for you (and your viewers 🙂

  20. William C Atkinson on March 13, 2021 at 11:50 pm

Yo loved the video and the spot! Question, if you were paddle only, would that be a kayak you would’ve bought, considering the weight , how it paddles and tracks and how it maneuvers?
Trying to narrow it down and have 4 in mind for paddle only, maybe in future a pedal drive, but these are the 4,ss127 , nucanoe f12, the kayak in the video and wilderness system recon 120. Let me know what ya think.

  21. Mason B on March 13, 2021 at 11:50 pm

I always have a PFD. Also a good idea to keep something like an air horn or a whistle in case you need help. I also do that.

  24. CLoNK on March 13, 2021 at 11:59 pm

PFD is GOING to save your life, not could save your life. It only works if you wear it. Dont leave shore without it.

  25. Fred Whatever on March 14, 2021 at 12:01 am

Nice video and thank you for the advice. I have a sit on and in the small compartment at the front I always carry a pair of goggles like the ones swimmers wear so that if I drop anything of value over the side that sinks, depending on the water depth and clarity, I can dive for it.

  26. Adilene Guerra on March 14, 2021 at 12:02 am

Just bought my first kayak today . Sit in . Used. All I can afford right now but I am excited to try it . Great videos!

  32. Blue Collar Fishing on March 14, 2021 at 12:14 am

Always bring your paddle in Pennsylvania its a law on any water vessel must have paddle onboard. Yo7 can get a fine if fish and boat does a check and you dont have 1.

  33. Gavin Small on March 14, 2021 at 12:16 am

    traffic cone at 8:10 lol

  34. ccubsfan94 on March 14, 2021 at 12:16 am

Make a system, in the pilot world we call it building your nest. Put everything and cockpit setup the same everytime.

  35. Jason Glover on March 14, 2021 at 12:17 am

Always bring your paddle no matter how your kayak is powered (pedal, troller motor etc.) if your drive system fails, you’ll need ol’reliable

  39. John Williams on March 14, 2021 at 12:19 am

I try to always bring water and Gatorade and a high calorie sealed snack. I’ve spent a night in the mangroves in a storm and small things like that can save your butt…

  40. Sawyer Ramos on March 14, 2021 at 12:19 am

Just get a yak and go out on the water

  41. John Bates on March 14, 2021 at 12:21 am

Nice Job what part of Florida are you in.

  43. Blinderb on March 14, 2021 at 12:24 am

Pick a kayak based on your intended use but also one that you can physically manage. If you can’t load it, move it and launch it then you aren’t going to use it.

  44. Poseidon on March 14, 2021 at 12:25 am
