Those sophisticated thus fragile very expensive watches are only for technology geeks or armchair commandos. A humble Casio F91 or one with improved water resistence as a W-59, W-218H (50 meters) W800H (100 meters) would serve better, maybe a G Shock to have extra protection against hits. Here are only a pair of examples of what a soldier should search to serve well on that role, cheap and reliable: https://www.creationwatches.com/products/es/casio-digital-350/casio-g-shock-flash-alert-super-illuminator-gd-400-1-gd400-1-mens-watch-7268.html or https://www.creationwatches.com/products/es/casio-digital-350/casio-dw-291h-1av-quartz-200m-mens-watch-17692.html

In what way is a watch that isn’t either solar powered or has a long life battery useful or appropriate for ANYONE in the armed forces?! A watch with only 4 days battery life is useless on ops.

Casio watches have only 7 months guarantee on silicon strap, my lasted whole 18 months. They made them on purpose such a low quality so you need to buy a new strap every year. That means that Casio watch durability is about 1 year.

  22. Russell Denney on December 8, 2020 at 10:16 pm

All of these electronic watches will be in the shit pile inside of 10 years. Save up your $$$ and buy quality mechanical watches and compass instruments.

  23. DuzBee on December 8, 2020 at 10:16 pm

I can’t understand what this guy is saying half the time.

  24. Bodhi Vasquez on December 8, 2020 at 10:17 pm

Most of these watches are not made for true military personnel or outdoorsmen/women in mind but for people who like to play or look like military personnel or outdoorsmen/women by wearing them and then think that they look "cool". And that is simply because most of these watches are way too expansive to use in active duty or outdooractivities. No right in their mind military personnel or outdoor enthousiast will spent this kind of money on a watch to use in the open field. The vast majority uses a watch that is no more expensive than around $100/$200 so that it can be replaced easily without loosing half your savings.

  25. Tyler Deleringo on December 8, 2020 at 10:19 pm

Ah the luminox. Excellent military watch with its 14 tritium vials so the enemy can pop you in darkness

  26. SexyMexiChili on December 8, 2020 at 10:23 pm

This guy doesn’t own any of these watches he reviewed he has NO idea what the hell he’s talking about.

Shit badly researched commercial from a lame jeweller.

  33. Gianna Filicia on December 8, 2020 at 10:33 pm

My brother is ex SF. 7 tours. He contracted for 4 year’s after that. He told me not to buy him a gps or wifi watch. I bought him a casio protrek. All of his choices my brother wouldn’t want.

  34. Ignacio Garrido on December 8, 2020 at 10:36 pm

Nice video. Although, when something won’t be affected by water even when submerged, it’s called WATERPROOF. Water resistance applies only for rain or splatter.

G shock watches are tough to beat.

  42. MadMaxx on December 8, 2020 at 10:45 pm

The only watch I trust when deployed is a G-Shock. My GWX-56-1BJF survived multiple combat tours and 3 years as a PMC. It still looks/works great.

  43. kiran ranjitkar on December 8, 2020 at 10:46 pm

Rearrange the position of the watches. Some of them are not even Military grade.

    Garmin Fenix series hands down!

  48. Shawn Lavigne on December 8, 2020 at 10:57 pm

I’ve handled the mudmaster. It’s a well made watch. I’d stick with casio for this type of usage.

  49. Halfzipp on December 8, 2020 at 10:57 pm

Who in their right mind would wear a $17k watch for any outdoor activity? Even the $2600 Tag is insane. Most military personnel are using G-shocks. Imo though, if you want something that works but isnt too expensive, the Timex Expedition Scout, which is like $50, so basically disposable. If you dont mind spending a bit more, the Seiko 5 is pretty nice. Its automatic, so you never have to worry about charging/changing batteries, and its pretty tough as well. The Garmin Tactix is a watch I was considering, but the battery life is trash. Unless youre just going on a day trip, its useless. Ive got the Suunto Core which has some pretty nice features, but unlike other feature watches, the battery actually lasts a long time. You can get up to 12 months on the battery before having to replace it. Ive also got a Casio Pathfinder which Ive had for more than 10 years and it still works like a charm. Its very similar to the Suunto Core, as far as features, but obviously has a very different look. Ive also got the Casio Protrek F20. It has some pretty amazing features, but the battery life can be pretty terrible, depending on how many of those features you use. Btw, for military personnel, you just need something that tells the time and is VERY reliable. Something that you have to charge every day is not that.

  50. SimonCrowne on December 8, 2020 at 10:58 pm

Pvt Snuffy, where is your 17 thousand dollar battle watch? Well sarge, I pawned that shit for enough to get a case of Becks, a carton of Marlboro reds, taxi money to that new strip club off base and 20 singles for Tiffany’s g string. I think she likes me. Wanna beer?
