You must have been a little mischievous in the hot springs so mother nature was laying down the law. For this episode your new slogan is LeAr that stands for Leave everything And run! :):):)

Thanks for the memories.. I camped at that spring all summer long.. five summers in a row a few years ago.. I could see the stone patio I laid, in your drone video.. It storms there like that almost every afternoon in that time of the summer..often with hail like that.. and you would have been in no greater danger sheltering in the trees than on the road.. They close that gate during times when it has been dry, making fire danger high…

Quite a contrast from the opening scene to the closing scene. Getting caught in hail is never any fun. I once got caught out swimming in a lake with only a bathing suit with hail about 10 times the size of that hail …. learned to hold my breath really good that day 🙂

Ooh…the hail! But you had fun in the hot spring, hadn’t you? How was it overall? 😯

  10. arron rodgers on March 16, 2021 at 12:06 am

The road is closed for a reason. Santa Fe National Forest is under an extreme fire danger, due to the dry conditions. If your caught in the forest by a park ranger right now you can be fined up to $5000.
Go north to Taos or Carson National forest, It’s open.

I hope it’s an unforgettable hike for you.
I noticed that for Sara lucky leaw is like a baby for her worries about the windows left open, it’s a very good reaction from the travelers.
