Russian Survival Kit From Kizlyar Supreme – Is It Worth The Price?

This survival kit is from Kizlyar Supreme, a Russian knife company. We’ve reviewed several of their knives so I thought it would be interesting to look at one of their survival kits. So, let’s see what is in this one and whether or not it is worth the price or even any good at all.

Here’s the only place I can find these:

Pile of cheap crap, totally not worth 75 bucks…..why review junk ?

  2. Pyro Smoak on December 4, 2020 at 9:53 pm

Great review Bryan but not so great kit. I hope they sent it to you and you didn’t actually pay for it.. Definitely not worth $75, I might buy the pouch and tin for like $15.
You mentioned a few knives that would fit and a water bag, I’d love to see the contents you’d put in the tin if you could buy the tin and the pouch on its own.

  3. mark swann on December 4, 2020 at 9:53 pm

Great video again, seems like the kit was thrown together, one or two good items and then space fillers. I tend to think kits an individual make up themselves are often more practical

  4. Son of Dad on December 4, 2020 at 9:54 pm

    Pretty underwhelming.😉

  5. lobo en hs on December 4, 2020 at 9:54 pm

Thanks Brian. This is a buyer beware video imho.

  6. Sam Spaun on December 4, 2020 at 9:54 pm

    NO PSK is worth $75.

  7. K J on December 4, 2020 at 9:55 pm

I read a few forums that say Kizlyar Supreme is made in China. Can anyone confirm the Kizlyar Supreme blades are Russian ?

  8. TigTk421 on December 4, 2020 at 9:56 pm

I don’t think I’d want to purchase a survival tool that “works… sort of”. Haha

  9. Rose Ciulla on December 4, 2020 at 9:57 pm

All junk, total garbage, price is a joke, sorry… For, lol, seventy-five dollars, holy crap !!! let’s all list here what we could buy. I could buy a Be Free water filter for twenty-five bucks, so that is filter and container or bag you can stuff in a pocket, I just bought a 200 pack of Aquatabs with date good for five years they come out to .85 cents a piece, lol… so the tin looking up on Amazon, if it is any kind of decent material is about four dollars being generous, so much comes in multi-packs so…, a real mag glass made of glass is about two dollars, I found a little kit with the same kind of ferro rod, but it had a pocket bellows and a tin for about seven dollars so lets wash out the pill holder there in that price, those matches worth less then a dollar online as everything is in bigger packs obviously so for what you got a buck seems fair, yes they were UCO…the needle, thread, safety pins fishing hooks and line are a few bucks tops. One gauze pad, two bandaids and two alcohol wipes again, less then two dollars. So that is less then fifty dollars to include a legit water filter that would save your life, a container that is made by Hydrapak one of the best makers of these types of collapsible bottles on the market, and there is still twenty-five-ish dollars left to buy a legit compass, a saw and a knife. I actually have a little saw made by Buck that would maybe fit in a tin that cost like twelve dollars at Cabelas that works AWESOME, a mini Victorinox is 15.47 right now on Amazon with scissors a file, screw driver head but you can find cheaper knock offs. I really could not find one good button compass that was worth anything really and they are like a dime a dozen so…and probably with the shipping I could toss in a Streamlight nano and a hank of that dynema cord and break even with Prime… Does this help anyone, lol.

  10. kevin Schmith on December 4, 2020 at 9:57 pm

You could buy better for $75

  11. Lee Miller on December 4, 2020 at 9:59 pm

My mom had those things in her purse and much more for everyday. And she only spent $5.00.

  12. Airborne101 Pathfinder on December 4, 2020 at 10:00 pm

Absolute garbage. If you bet your life in that crap….you’ll lose.

  13. Humble Trekker on December 4, 2020 at 10:01 pm

    absolute garbage

  14. Ray Konold on December 4, 2020 at 10:01 pm

Yikes! No cordage? No shelter? It gets cold in Russia. How are these guys surviving the time it takes to collect wood for a fire? I agree with you about the box and pouch. I like the water tight bottle too. I’d spend maybe $25.00 for the three of them and load it up myself.

  15. Travis Coombes on December 4, 2020 at 10:06 pm

I got my wife a Spyderco paramilitary 2 in s110v from BDU, and it was $50 less than anywhere else.

    Nope

  18. Arcata GB on December 4, 2020 at 10:14 pm

You can get a LOT more with $75 from AMK, including a wealth of good first aid equipment.

  19. James Hall on December 4, 2020 at 10:15 pm

i hope you make your money back on the video revenue because you got ripped off

  20. Chrys Fil on December 4, 2020 at 10:15 pm

Another beautiful review, but $10 worth of items and a $65 pouch, is not great value for money.

  21. SoCalPatriot on December 4, 2020 at 10:15 pm

I like the size of the tin. looks like it’s just a little bigger than a standard "Altoids" survival tin.

  22. 90draghetto on December 4, 2020 at 10:17 pm

Hi, I’ve got an off topic question, what knife is that? The folder you use to open the pack.

  23. SpeakEasy DoorMan on December 4, 2020 at 10:18 pm

    It’s a Russain survival kit
    Made In CHINA
    UMMM….OK?

  24. Rick Johnson on December 4, 2020 at 10:18 pm

I like survival kits as well unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to justify the price of $75 interesting to see the kit though.

  25. Adnan Maharaj on December 4, 2020 at 10:19 pm

Thats a rip off, I wouldn’t pay $5.00 for that. The best survival kit is one you make yourself and put in quality gear.

  26. Challenge me Bushcraft on December 4, 2020 at 10:19 pm

I like the tin and pouch

  27. phyllis mulkey on December 4, 2020 at 10:21 pm

    Maybe $20 not $75

  28. Tom Terrific on December 4, 2020 at 10:21 pm

I think every survival kit should include some Chuck Norris facts…nothing like having a good laugh when things are at their worst!

  29. Rudy O on December 4, 2020 at 10:22 pm

Should have sold for about 12.99

  30. Louis Aziz on December 4, 2020 at 10:24 pm

Cotton wool (cotton balls/pads) with Vaseline would be better. Fire starter and first aid in one.

  31. MI Prepper on December 4, 2020 at 10:25 pm

If you want a similar tin go to a dollar store and find a tin pencil case, since many like the tin.

  32. MI Prepper on December 4, 2020 at 10:25 pm

I just did not see $75 dollars there to be honest.

  33. Randy Yeager on December 4, 2020 at 10:25 pm

Wow, I could spend like $15 at a dollar store and end up with a bitter kit

  34. Sorin Outdoors on December 4, 2020 at 10:27 pm

No way $75, I like the tin+pouch though, I’d buy those only if available. Thanks for the review Bran.

  35. Craig Viper on December 4, 2020 at 10:31 pm

how much. pile of old tat just thrown in an old tin, probably previously used for candy. $20 at best.

  36. Darrell Goodman on December 4, 2020 at 10:31 pm

For 120.00 Dollars you can get a Henry Survival kit or a ESSE both use the same tin and have space blanket ,and have the beeswax tea light candle .

  37. Steven Szabo on December 4, 2020 at 10:32 pm

You really need to give the saw a much fairer test. They are quite good if used properly.

  38. Margaret Adler on December 4, 2020 at 10:32 pm

His favorite song is ramble on!

  39. Steveder Jones on December 4, 2020 at 10:34 pm

The case and tin are nice . Not worth $75 . A decent compass,Aquamirira frontier water filter.

  40. John Chapman on December 4, 2020 at 10:34 pm

Why would anyone pay money to support Russia and their economy when American $$$ should be spent in America, Far better product then what I have seen here.

  41. Scott Carse on December 4, 2020 at 10:37 pm

That’s a dollar store product if I’ve ever seen one, certainly not worth 75 bucks

  42. TigTk421 on December 4, 2020 at 10:38 pm

American components, Russian Components, ALL MADE IN TAIWAN!

  43. JoeFrohlich on December 4, 2020 at 10:38 pm

This kit is not very good.

  44. Viewtiful Josh on December 4, 2020 at 10:40 pm

That’s worth $5. At least for the tin and the contents in it.

  45. Kevin Carver on December 4, 2020 at 10:40 pm

Brian, after watching your video, would you do a video showing the items that you would want in a survival kit, to keep you alive? You had mentioned a bag for water, show us the, in your opinion acceptable items. Thanks great video, as always….

  46. Isaac Cotton on December 4, 2020 at 10:41 pm

The wire saw I got from Wal-Mart cuts alot better and alot faster then that and I have been using it for 4 years now and hasn’t broke yet. It’s made in China. The only issue with mine is that it likes to bind up and the memory tension sucks. Other then that, it works ok. Haha. I like your video, sir. Keep up the good work.

  47. Farfrombroken1 on December 4, 2020 at 10:42 pm

Selling the sheath and tin empty would be their best bet. Great review.

  48. David Jennings on December 4, 2020 at 10:43 pm

    Nice review but gimmick!

  49. Sidney Mathious on December 4, 2020 at 10:43 pm

The pouch and the tin is probably the best thing in that kit and as for everything else they look like junk. I have two kits from different companies and they are nice and one kit have an ink pen in the kits and each one is better than the one you have there.

  50. Nicholas Ramsey on December 4, 2020 at 10:45 pm

Must cost a lot to get them over here because it is really overpriced for what you get. I’ve picked up several different pre made kits for between $18 to $35 that are comparable. I like the molle pouch but not enough to purchase this kit.
