Missoula, Montana's Best Urban Hike: Hiking The "M" and Mt. Sentinel At The University of Montana

This is likely the best urban hike you’ll find anywhere, led alone in Montana. Today we hike to the top of Mt. Sentinel, on the way stopping by one of Montana’s greatest man-made landmarks, the University of Montana’s “M”.

Have you done Pengully Ridge as an alternate route to Mount Sentinel?

The woman on the trail wasn’t being scientific. Risk of transmission outdoors in that scenario is next to zero. Plus, she looked about 45-50 yrs old and if she is hiking the M trail she is healthy. Even if she caught the virus her risk of dying is probably 1 in 1,500. Fear over logic, superstition over science.

I wasn’t born there, but grew up there (outside of Missoula up Hwy 12 actually). My wife went to the UofM as well. Living in Phoenix now as well. Hope to see you on the trails here in AZ sometime!
