This week we are getting away from some of the more dense topics to celebrate the best activity of the summer: kayaking with dogs!
Buddy, my 13-year-old golden retriever, demonstrates proper kayak etiquette. He always wears his life vest, he remembers to keep his balance, and he always, ALWAYS stays hydrated.
This week’s kayaking adventure was in Elk Rapids, Michigan at the site of an old hydroelectric plant. This particular out-pouching of the lake once once home to a cherry farm. The logs at the bottom are all that is left of the proud cherry trees after the hydroelectric dam caused flooding to the area. Now it is a beautiful recreation area, sporting a small island and eerily clear waters.
