I found a vertebrea, the only thing that it could have been from was a deer. It still had some meat on it and was fresh. I noped out of there.

Not a hiker and not weird, just me hiking a tiny mountain because why not, but I saw an underage girl (maybe 13-14 years old) giving some 40-50 year old man a BJ. Took a photo, the dude got arrested

We used to put bull/ram skulls near trees or on anthills after the animals died to create "European style" mounts.

We were hiking in New Mexico on a 11 day hike. The fifth or six day we are hiking up on a ridge and see some type of big cat ( about waste high and four foot long not including tail ) down the mountain about two hundred feet away. It wasn’t coming toward us or anything but when you haven’t seen a road or any sign of civilization in five day’s the last thing you want to see is a creature that could kill you in ten seconds. Nothing ever happened but it was a truly humbling experience.

The reason they would tie a bull head to a tree is so the flies eat the flesh and the sun bleaches it and makes it look cool and only bone. While also preventing it from rotting and keeping coyotes, wolves, and wild dogs from getting it.

  24. Nathan Mullaney on March 9, 2021 at 12:01 am

7:49 the bull head is just sitting there to rot the hide off of it so there is just the skull we do that all the time with deer

Camping with family when I was 12. Middle of the night I woke up to a ton of heavy footsteps around my tent. Sounded like a football team was passing by. Next day parents told ne it was a herd of deer, but man that freaked me out.

I was hiking off post last year and stumbled upon a deer that was ripped in half. Like legit spine ripped apart and organs strewn. I had a field knife on me and immediately pulled it out because it looked like a predator kill. The thing is there are no predators near Bragg because game wardens control the population off post. There weren’t any maggots on this deer yet either so it was definitely less than a few days old. It also didn’t show signs of being eaten or teeth marks. Anyways I surveyed the area looking for potential predator tracks and didn’t find a single one- not even the deers. It also hadn’t rained for about a week so there should’ve been tracks. I started walking back because I was scared and to be safe took a very open pasture to get back to a main road that cars go down probably every ten minutes. When I was about 200 yards from the road I hear this loud screeching noise that honestly reminded me of nails of a chalk board. I picked up my pace walking and walked about half a mile down the road to get to my vehicle. As I was driving away I heard the screech again only this time it was really close and really loud. I had my windows up and even then it almost sounded like whatever was making that noise couldn’t have been more that 50 yards away. I heard breaking limbs as I started my car and nearly crashed as I drove back on to post. I haven’t been hiking at that place and you couldn’t pay me to go back.
