I don’t own a fishing rod…. i’m not near any fishing areas…. never fished in my life and probably will never fish in my life…. how did i end up here……

  16. Bumcast on October 16, 2020 at 4:13 am

Hi, I don’t think I would – but I may be misunderstanding the analogy of course. I can understand the piston like movement used with a saw being likened to part of the movement in the casting stroke (Translation) But the most important movement in the casting stroke – Rotation – seems to be absent from the action used when sawing

ive been trying to perfect my roll cast im gonna try the tuck cast now

  18. Bumcast on October 16, 2020 at 4:16 am

I actually made it up for filming – it a poly leader spliced in to the line

  19. Mr Ben on October 16, 2020 at 4:17 am

I’ve only been throwing for 3 days now and I’ve already perfected the "tree top loop" the "bushwacker ", "spider monkey" and my personal favorite "crack the whip". 🤣

Excellent video instruction!  Liked it so much I purchased the DVD.  Please, please, please make another DVD exploring other spey casting techniques like the snake roll.  A lot of my fly fishing is on small rivers with tree-choked banks and no room at all for a back cast.

@bumcast What kind of fly line are you using in this video I like the different color tip would be easier to see than my solid color line

I am new to fly fishing and just picked up another rod – 6wt. (I have an 8 to), but I can ‘t seem to cast this line out there like I can the #8. Wondering if it is just the newness to the rod or would better line (heavier line) help?
