Must say it is so much easier to camp with Aussies even in Australia despite being surrounded by drop bears

GR8 video for beginners. But I have one comment. I don’t put a tarp under the tent. It holds rain water and it pools on the tarp going under the tent. You end up with water between the tarp and tent floor. I now use the tarp inside the tent on the floor. I’m just saying cuz it happened to me. No fun waking up in a pool.

Very good video!..any chance you can do another video where you show how to catch fish, clean and cook at fire? ( same title, same setup in beginning but add a catch lean and eat fish to it)

Instant light charcoal, and pre-cut firewood? You’re NOT CAMPING.

I’ve been a city guy my whole life and really seek to challenge myself and step out of my environment. I’m so tired of being crowded with people and missing out on nature. Thankz for this video, it helps a lot.

A good packing up tip: Put your tent and ground cloth in your empty cooler (or a large trash bag) to transport home. It will be damp in the morning from the dew, and will get musty if you pack it up when wet. Dry it out and refold/pack it for the next trip when you get home.

    Good video for first timers.
I have camped since I was young and in national parks in Kenya close to wild animals – but that’s a different story.
I usually start fire with a flint striker

One suggestion to everyone is check your all your gear before you go camping. You can improvise for missing pegs etc but check before you go.

Tip: Bring friends and family, while being out and alone may seem fun you will get very lonely and sometimes paranoid. Also if something happens you will have a way to get help

Every time I’m using a wood fire I have leather gloves. If they’re thick enough you can quickly pick up coals and hot sticks. Make sure they have no holes and are thick enough.

My first, and only time, camping as a child we had Blueberry bangles and strawberry cream cheese for breakfast. It’s a nostalgic meal now.

Machete with a blade on one side and spikes on the other for the campfire….. Make sure you have a headlamp along with the lantern

  46. Ded Hampster on March 9, 2021 at 12:09 am

Thank you for this video. I want to take my husband to nature but like my modern comforts. He wants to hike and I want to just sit and paint nature. So I am planning a trip to make the experience great for both of us. It seems camping isn’t too much different than living without utilities after a hurricane, of which I know well! Thanks!!!

Thanks man! I grew up camping but I’m feeling nervous about taking my family. I’ve never been the one planning and I’ve never taken my kids! You reminded me how simple and straightforward it can be.
