Best EDC Multi Tool For Wilderness Survival – Leatherman Signal

I think the Leatherman Signal is the best multi tool for EDC and survival because it has a firestarter, emergency whistle and even a knife sharpener in addition to the standard Leatherman tools.

It locks the tool so it will not open on You.

  2. Zeb Gipson on December 5, 2020 at 9:53 pm

I’m disappointed. You didn’t balance test it! Lol. I love the Signal but it could do without that hammer/carabiner bit

  3. Mike Easterday on December 5, 2020 at 9:59 pm

I was regular army . We were on a mission. SIX OF US !!! All 6 leatherman pieces of excrement broke during the mission. We told our company commander about what happened. He got our order changed. Everyone in the unit bought Swiss Army Knives . The Swiss Army Knife I have now has been my EDC for about 18 years .

  4. fraidofthedark on December 5, 2020 at 10:00 pm

My personal favourite and daily edc! Happy New Year!

  5. Bilge Pump on December 5, 2020 at 10:00 pm

Instead of a bunch of doodads that u can’t really use i’d like to see a few good quality tools that u can.

  6. Legatorum on December 5, 2020 at 10:01 pm

The only thing it lacks is a flashlight to be an ultimate outdoor multitool.. but nah its ok i would still buy it

  7. Jani Sukanen on December 5, 2020 at 10:04 pm

Great review Bryan 🙂 I like the Signal a lot. Has been on my shopping list since it was released. Definitely going to get one someday. By this far my favorite Leathermans have been original Supertool, Sidekick ( more less the essentials in a compact package, great for camping) and Rebar ( old school but my favorite " workhorse") It is great that they put the replaceable cutters in that and having firesteel ( small but way better than nothing ) and sharpener is just awesome. Thank you for sharing 🙂 Big thumbs up!

  8. NeckRed Gringo on December 5, 2020 at 10:04 pm

I EDC that leatherman, love it man. I carry a little hunk of fatwood with it where the bits go. Awesome job Brian

  9. Michael Jones on December 5, 2020 at 10:08 pm

Another great product from Leatherman. Thanks for the great demo on the SIGNAL. Definitely a item for my wish list.

  10. Patrick Gambsky on December 5, 2020 at 10:10 pm

You have a great channel my friend 👍 very informative thanks

  11. Jon O on December 5, 2020 at 10:10 pm

Leatherman makes the Signal in a few color variations. There’s the standard version of the Signal with yellow ferro rod and knife sharpener, and stainless tools. They also make a Cabela’s and REI exclusive versions which have a coyote tan frame (Cabela’s) and dark OD green (REI) frame and both have black tools. The REI version has a topographical map design on the knife which is pretty neat. Aesthetics aside though, the Signal is a good companion to have while enjoying the great outdoors!

  12. Stuart D on December 5, 2020 at 10:10 pm

A firestarter for goodness sake !
    🤪 exactly how cool 😎
I just ordered one and I’ve never had an interest in them

  13. Roland Lowhorn on December 5, 2020 at 10:14 pm

    Good job leatherman thanks Brian

  14. Roamin' Emperor on December 5, 2020 at 10:14 pm

Awesome, thanks for that. I think the hammer option sold me.

  15. DaHotRod1 on December 5, 2020 at 10:15 pm

I personally prefer the Victorinox Swisstool X.

  16. SticknString1 on December 5, 2020 at 10:15 pm

I’ve been waiting for a multi tool to come out with a ferro rod incorporated. Here it is! Ok not perfect yet. I don’t want a whistle or scissors like they put on many tools. I prefer a flashlight. I know some people think a flashlight would be a gimmick but for me I want one on my multitool. For the price of a Leatherman I want exactly what I want and nothing extra. I saw a suggestion that they should offer custom tools. That would work for me because I haven’t bought one and will continue to wait altho the signal is close.

  17. d vcc on December 5, 2020 at 10:16 pm

Man, worst review video ever: shaky, keeps moving all the time, speaks too fast and annoying voice (sorry to say), and doesn’t even know what the product features are for!!
Merely a bad presentation of a good product.

  18. Rayan A on December 5, 2020 at 10:17 pm

    That’s it! I’m growing a mustache!

  19. S&Tguy on December 5, 2020 at 10:19 pm

Is Your arm ok it looks like You got cut or scratch really bad. In the bend of Your arm.

  20. lotus102d2000 on December 5, 2020 at 10:19 pm

Did you copy the ignition test?

  21. Tim Kirk on December 5, 2020 at 10:19 pm

very cool way to light a fire – ‘it was fun, thats what that was’ – what a great line!!!!

  22. Cory Gardner on December 5, 2020 at 10:21 pm

The only thing that beats a leatherman in quality is the victornox tools. But maybe not as innovative. Thanks for the review, now I want three. Lol

  23. 5.7R/T Challenger on December 5, 2020 at 10:25 pm

I think you meant 3/8” wrench maybe? Idk I can’t really tell where you are pointing out

  24. The Lambinator on December 5, 2020 at 10:25 pm

love the signal just wish they had a fine edge version instead of serriation…..but great tool either way

  25. Biscuits9mm on December 5, 2020 at 10:25 pm

I laughed it when you chuckled as the fire steel sparks caused the tinder to burst into flame. Very satisfying. I know that feeling.

  26. Blazin'Blades Adventures TV on December 5, 2020 at 10:27 pm

I carry the wingman for 1/3 of the price but if money was no object this would be my EDC.

  27. REAPER MILITIA OUTDOORS on December 5, 2020 at 10:28 pm

    Leatherman is boss.👍👊🤘

  28. Paul Fyffe on December 5, 2020 at 10:28 pm

This guy makes a carbon steel non serrated blade that can replace the original blade!

  29. NatanelYaHu on December 5, 2020 at 10:29 pm

    Boy Scouts? What’s that?

  30. Jesse Paternoster on December 5, 2020 at 10:30 pm

Great video. Well delivered and thorough. Well done.

  31. Ilias Ververis on December 5, 2020 at 10:30 pm

Not that bad of a video, as bad as that particular multi tool. The only good thing with my signal so far is that two sides pockets, and can store the broken blade, the broken whistle, and the Rusty sharpeners. All the other things still working, but there is no more space for storage………..

  32. TheNorthForty on December 5, 2020 at 10:32 pm

WHAT ? NO COMPASS….. Great video!

  33. Charles Driggers on December 5, 2020 at 10:34 pm

    Still use my original leatherman

  34. Dash on December 5, 2020 at 10:35 pm

Cool, but two major misses… serrated blade and no scissors.
Right now my go-to woods Leatherman is the Free P4.. its got all the woodsy parts, and its smaller/lighter than most of the others.
I dont know about the rest of you, but I’ve never needed pliars in the woods, nice to have, but not required.. with that in mind the Victorinox Ranger 78 has an awesome blade and saw, both are around 4" and they run circles around any Leatherman ever made, better yet the combo equals a 5-6" fixed blade.. especially for notching, fitting, the usual "bushcraft" stuff.

  35. Daniel Figueroa on December 5, 2020 at 10:35 pm

Is the flint replaceable as I’m sure it will wear fast

  36. Robert Richardson on December 5, 2020 at 10:36 pm

Maybe Leatherman will come out with a non-serrated blade model. Other than that the Signal looks good to me. I like that little sharpener.

  37. Lorenzo Ong on December 5, 2020 at 10:37 pm

A lot of people call this multitool a gimmick, but it’s actually a really good edc tool that actually works to have as a backup to all your primary hiking/camping gears. It’s really a great pocket friendly survival multitool. I really like this tool a lot.

  38. William Burr on December 5, 2020 at 10:38 pm

Yeah, my Leatherman Wave is a great tool, but its too darned heavy. I just ordered the Signal for mobile edc, and will use the Wave at my desk. Thank you, my friend.

  39. MARZ1911 on December 5, 2020 at 10:40 pm

Really wish it had a file

  40. Mohd Syukor Ahmad on December 5, 2020 at 10:42 pm

    Ahh…no beard

  41. spaceman51974 on December 5, 2020 at 10:42 pm

That little "hook" is to lock the tool when you hang it by the carabiner, so it doesn’t open by itself.

  42. Sam Turner on December 5, 2020 at 10:44 pm

if u close the tool then flick that clip forward it locks it shut

  43. Richard Edgecomb on December 5, 2020 at 10:44 pm

The best thing I can say about a Leatherman is Victorinox Spirit X … 😀

  44. Dutch Black Talon on December 5, 2020 at 10:45 pm

I’ve got that bad not in my get home bag in my truck… best place for it. Great review!

  45. Leon Andre on December 5, 2020 at 10:45 pm

    Base is magnetic

  46. malthus101 on December 5, 2020 at 10:45 pm

Assuming you’re already carrying a knife or two, a folding saw, several fire-steels, a whistle, a sharpening stone… THEN which Leatherman is best for survival?

  47. Patrick Mounier on December 5, 2020 at 10:46 pm

Thanks for the nice Video ! I have the limited edition green signal with the damascus blade. The best multi-tool I ever owned !!

  48. Butch Hill on December 5, 2020 at 10:47 pm

So do you think this their best yet. Good for a backpack? It would be good for a Car or SUV . I got backpack in my SUV.

  49. Christopher Hyde on December 5, 2020 at 10:52 pm

It’s a lock for the tool

  50. Jesse Paternoster on December 5, 2020 at 10:52 pm

The clip coming off the hammer end is to lock the LM closed
