Wow look who’s turned into a prepper. Good for you!

Some dollar tree items are worth it, others are not.
I’ve purchased those hand wipes several times and every time it’s either dried out or nearly dried out. Not what you want in an emergency, they’re essentially useless. Spring for the extra .22¢ per pack and buy the good Wet Wipes brand. It’ll stay moist for a long time.

  4. Sheree Garrett on August 4, 2022 at 10:35 pm

They have the 2.5 gal bags at Walmart in a bigger box for cheaper. They are with the ziplock bag section.

Get showers curtains at dollar tree to make temporary shelters also clothes pins and cord. Dont forget 3 pair of socks. Very important

  7. GiGi mama on August 4, 2022 at 10:36 pm

Love the idea. Way too much stuff. How much ibuprofen does your family go through in 72 hours? Multiple packs of cards, candy? Some of your items make sense if you have a bug out place otherwise, you are sheltering at home like most of us. Most of your hard earned money spent on non essentials. Again, love the idea.

  8. Allycat's Prepared Life on August 4, 2022 at 10:36 pm

  15. Plumcreek Farms on August 4, 2022 at 10:48 pm

I bought some mylar bags and put rice, beans, oatmeal, dried milk, crackers etc. and added the oxygen absorbers to them. Keep dryer lint and toilet paper rolls , stuff lint inside , that’s a good fire starter.Seems like a lot of stuff, to carry, but you covered most everything you would need for sure. We will just ride it out on our farm, we have canned goods from our garden and mylar bag foods, with our chickens,,we get eggs , cows to eat. I go outside at night and pray for protection over our property and family and animals!! Tell the devil he can’t cross your property line ,in the Name Of Jesus !! I believe God will provide for us. He feed Noah and His children, Mana and water, so he can do it today for us too , if we believe, we will receive, yes and amen !! .

Place a list of important phone numbers in each child’s pack. Or have them memorize Mom and Dad’s number as well as Grandma’s.

The coffee is really good. Made for a large mug but really good. Great finds.

you are a really hard worker.hope you are feeling better.

  20. Judie Havard on August 4, 2022 at 10:52 pm

Take everything out of the store packaging. It takes up too much room in the packs. Camp cups are better those cups will crush. They expanding wash cloths work but they are scratchy. Clothes a set of clothes weather appropriate. This time of year sweat pants or yoga pants a long sleeve pull over, a T shirt, and sweat shirt. Knit hat and gloves. Set of underwear and two pairs of socks. The same clothes can be used for pajamas as well. Ladies feminine products. I carry EMERGEN-C WITH ZINC everywhere I go and spares in our car. To hit colds and sore throats quick. Mom and Dad can carry each a water filter these can get pricey. Also besides your backpack some items can be placed in a five gallon bucket to take some weight off Mom and Dad’s back. That also can be quickly thrown in the car.

  21. Grand Catsmama on August 4, 2022 at 10:53 pm

On one video I saw a man hung a tarpaulin all the way around his camp site, it helped cut down on the wind blowing, and the temperature too. You could leave a couple in the van for cold weather, or a windstorm.

  22. Jon and Jess Tyler on August 4, 2022 at 10:53 pm

About how much would one backpack cost on average?

  23. Brett Sprang on August 4, 2022 at 10:54 pm

Pack a pair of pliers and a straight end screw driver….
Because if the pop tab breaks…you ain’t got anything to eat 🤔
Otherwise you are doing a great job!

  24. Reds Random videos on August 4, 2022 at 10:55 pm

Great prepper video I need to get on the ball 👍🏽

Something no one seems to think of if your going because of say bushfire take copies of your insurance policy, and bank information and id, if you lose your home because of something like a bushfire that information will come in handy like you wouldn’t believe! This is coming from someone who has seen how difficult things can be without that information.

Remember to pack an extra pair or two of leggings as an extra layer in case the temperature drops. Use them for girls and boys too. They may not like the idea of wearing "girl’s clothes" but when it’s freezing out, they won’t mind any more. Buy them in navy, brown and black for the boys. No silly designs for them. Especially in a grid down, they’ll be glad to be warm.
I bought a backpack for myself and one for my nephew. As well as two small mini packs, I figured he will carry the black backpack and the black mini pack could be worn in front. I ordered another mini pack in purple for myself. I use it as a purse for now. You can always carry extra socks, undies, an extra water bottle and small things in them. My backpack has pockets for two water bottles on either side.
Rose Red Homestead has shown water reservoirs that she and her husband carry with them when camping. Great for the adults, but I don’t know if they come in smaller sizes for the older children or not. You’d have to check the website.

Ah! Great idea about the Chapstick vs Carmex type

  30. Shondra on August 4, 2022 at 11:02 pm

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned, but it may still be good to bring at least just one can opener just in case the pop tab cans break off

  31. Iris Ruiz on August 4, 2022 at 11:03 pm

I binge watches videos last night and then about 3 videos this morning.. anyway, I dosed off while watching one & had a dream I was on vacation with y’all.. lol

When I was in the Army, we would put small amounts of instant coffee straight in our mouths with a sip of water as a boost/pick-me-up on night guard duty. 😄

  38. Actually Karen on August 4, 2022 at 11:20 pm

I’m from the uk and am a little lost as to why you need an emergency back pack?

  39. Grand Catsmama on August 4, 2022 at 11:21 pm

Have you watched Rose Red Homestead? In a world of men survivalist’s, she’s a breath of fresh air. She has a video on what to pack for us ladies. Including a urinal for us as well as Midol and Preparation H. The men usually say to carry a pad for a wound.

  40. ghost kitties on August 4, 2022 at 11:23 pm

Dont forget make time to take care of YOU; so you can get better and stick around for thoughs kids. Big hugs momma!

  41. Grand Catsmama on August 4, 2022 at 11:24 pm

With all of those children, why don’t you have some of them help you lay out and pack everything? You must be exhausted by the end of the day. Even a few of the little ones could help pack the plastic bags and backpacks. You could make a game of it for them. Everyone put certain items in the bags, assembly line style. One packs the peanut butter, someone else puts away the tuna or chicken salad, down the line. That’s how we did it when I helped out at the food pantries, we worked fast too. Then you wouldn’t be up all night. And what about your husband? What kind of work does he do? Just wondering. God bless you and your family.

  42. MBN on August 4, 2022 at 11:25 pm

This feels overwhelming to me 🥺

  43. Ruth Bennett on August 4, 2022 at 11:25 pm

My husband said to say brake fluid and chlorine tablets are a must. Metal can. Brake fluid about an inch then drop one chlorine tablet. Will start a fire even in rain homemade thermite

  44. ghost kitties on August 4, 2022 at 11:27 pm

Having been homeless with a kid before…I can tell you a back pack or duffle with some basic needs stuff is a god send. A huge problem for homeless folks is having no way to carry around their most important items.
