Here are 6 things that drive me nuts about my 2020 KTM 2 stroke dirt bikes. Yes, it’s true that they are the best dirt bikes I’ve ever bought, but they aren’t perfect. Here are those things I think need to be re-tooled.

I picked up a 20- 250sx. And the only thing I don’t like with it is on the shock they have a sort of nylon plastic locking nut on it. So the first thing I did was set the sag and then proceeded to mangle the locking nut before I even rode it. Other than that the bike is miles ahead of anything iv ever ridden before.

  2. bernhard85 on March 2, 2021 at 11:26 pm

even the aftermarket yoshi pipes i have purchased came with a spark arrestor lol but god forbid the manufacturers of our bikes put them in from the factory… i mean if you wanna cry about something to do with the environment the spark arrestor could do alot more damage alot faster to the planet than the emissions will blow for blow..

  3. Ákos Stickel on March 2, 2021 at 11:26 pm

The most annoying point is that KTM does know all about these problems. They run many test bikes and analised the leaks, the bad points of the bike – and they made the decision to sell it after all.
The lean mixture is first of all because of the emission and I’m sure that the injection and ignition maps can be modified but you’ll need a laptop and a software.

  4. Matt Beresford on March 2, 2021 at 11:27 pm

oil coming out is probably due to poor crank case ventilation id be checking that.

  5. tyler howell on March 2, 2021 at 11:32 pm

Roll start …. works …. if you don’t have a kick start …

  6. zip1233 on March 2, 2021 at 11:33 pm

They’re not going to allow you to adjust idle by yourself. that’s part of the emissions requirements that it’s not tamper able. Also with the spark arrestor issue, it’s a government regulation that you can’t have too many features otherwise it’ll have to be considered a street vehicle.

  7. Paul Taylor on March 2, 2021 at 11:33 pm

I agree the spark arrestor a sure thing even in NZ were it rains most of the time organised Trail rides ask to have on entry to events…..

  8. Besim Sherifi on March 2, 2021 at 11:37 pm

just get a japanese made bike

  9. Leo M on March 2, 2021 at 11:38 pm

So you choose ktm over husqvarna?

  10. Nick Bryan on March 2, 2021 at 11:40 pm

So much knowledge! You are awesome!

  11. BrianQ103 on March 2, 2021 at 11:42 pm

It’s a rule that if the main company color is orange, the bike MUST leak oil from somewhere! 😊

  12. bernhard85 on March 2, 2021 at 11:42 pm

europe needs to take their emissions laws and shove them…

  13. ScrumpedPTL on March 2, 2021 at 11:43 pm

Just threw me completely off on buying a KTM next season

  14. Joseph Giuseppe on March 2, 2021 at 11:43 pm

    How is the 2021 125sx?

  15. Loris Foucart on March 2, 2021 at 11:45 pm

I agree on everything except your point on the kickstart, good video.

  16. SD5 on March 2, 2021 at 11:45 pm

The first thing wrong with it is that it’s a KTM
The second thing wrong with it is that it’s a two-stroke.
Everybody knows that for strokes are better.

  17. Adam Retschlag on March 2, 2021 at 11:47 pm

Not good enough for a bike that wont give u much change from 20k, my old kawasaki has none of these problems and costs half the price and will still be going when the ktm needs a rebuild.

  18. oneway clay on March 2, 2021 at 11:47 pm

Mine is i dont like 2 strokes

  19. David Vitan on March 2, 2021 at 11:48 pm

The idle screw thing has nothing to do with Euro 5 as Euro emission standards only applies to street bikes and these bikes cannot be made road legal in most European countries (2 strokes are completely illegal on the road)

  20. Thumbgas on March 2, 2021 at 11:50 pm

Best way to fix KTM is go for other brands. All my friends that have KTM’s they are always working on them, there is always something

  22. 80s Honda dirtbike 1 on March 2, 2021 at 11:51 pm

Ktm should support you, im buying a Ktm 250 xcw because of you

  23. Tom Thomas on March 2, 2021 at 11:52 pm

My KTM 2 stroke was a waste of 10 grand. It left me stranded twice where recovery was complicated and a huge hassle. The colour orange has been purged from my garage and blue and red are all we bleed. KTM is a great bike to ride but mine had overwhelming reliability issues and I would never trust it enough to purchase one again.

  24. MitchOfCanada on March 2, 2021 at 11:53 pm

2019 250 tpi, constantly fouling plugs, even with slavens idle screw mod. garbage TPI systems.

  25. TheBundyBear on March 2, 2021 at 11:54 pm

Well that’s enough to turn me off one.

  26. DASH RIDES on March 2, 2021 at 11:54 pm

The spark arrestor thing is so true. These aren’t track bikes, and I’ve never been to an off-road area that does not require them.

  27. stampy Dragon on March 2, 2021 at 11:55 pm

Injection engines are almost impossible to kick start because of the extra power load also you can buy a in pipe spark arester

  28. Mike G on March 2, 2021 at 11:55 pm

It’s funny you mention the lack of grab handles because my Husky’s have great grab handles.

  29. chubbindustries on March 2, 2021 at 11:57 pm

You didn’t hold back but what you said was valid.

  30. DirtBike Jr on March 2, 2021 at 11:57 pm

You should get a Yamaha 250 4 stroke

  31. Dan Braden on March 2, 2021 at 11:59 pm

Is the Gas Gas any better?

  32. Bernie Bock Junior on March 3, 2021 at 12:02 am

    You’re still on the 2020s?

  33. Colzc blah on March 3, 2021 at 12:04 am

I’ve been told many times by many people that euro bikes are unreliable

  34. daneus10 on March 3, 2021 at 12:08 am

Trying to grab the fender clips were like an infomercial 😂

  35. adventurist.tv on March 3, 2021 at 12:08 am

Ship those exhausts to Australia – we don’t require spark arrestors!

  36. ANDREA SIGNORINI on March 3, 2021 at 12:09 am

    for my first enduro bike ( first bike ever ) is better a 300tpi 2019 or a 500 ?? I don’t do hard enduro and I’m 6 feet for 95kg

  37. Snow Rider on March 3, 2021 at 12:09 am

1st 2nd and 3rd are useless weak gears on the ktm and huskey! My riding friend just got a 2020 huskey te300i after 80miles the piston seized. 1300$ fix and guess what 40 miles later its broke again! I think he got a odd lemon bike!

  38. 666iman on March 3, 2021 at 12:11 am

I used to like this channel but since they only talk about KTM I had to stop watching. There are other makes, google it!

  39. Die Long on March 3, 2021 at 12:11 am

  41. kyle peterson on March 3, 2021 at 12:12 am

  45. Chev_man _13 on March 3, 2021 at 12:16 am

Ya but if they do this they will charge another grand

  46. raptor686bl on March 3, 2021 at 12:16 am

Totally agree with the kickstart thing! I get it if you ride a motocross track only but so many people have there batteries die and they have to jump them. Seriously annoying

  47. Anonymous on March 3, 2021 at 12:21 am

    Here is another one: everything

  48. Rhonda Palmer on March 3, 2021 at 12:21 am

The way to solve your KTM problems, buy a Yamaha !.

  49. Yamaha Jawa on March 3, 2021 at 12:22 am

Whats the KTM,s best year? 2019?

  50. Rammstone77 on March 3, 2021 at 12:23 am

I agree to almost everything but the kickstart. Had 300s for more than 15 years now, and since 2007 the electric start was on the stock bikes. Since then I never had to kick once in hundreds of hours of riding and I ride extreme stuff a lot. The Bendix start was improved a lot over the years and works even more flawlessly. And without a capacitor an kickstart isn´t helping anyhow with a broken battery. So I having no problem to save another kg of weight and getting rid of the thing completely. The 4 strokes are showing it already and no ones asks for it anymore… so now the shitstorm may come over me of you guys… 🙂
