Dude the mountain house food, the Sawyer filter and the $3 water bags (that fits the sawyer) are the only usable gear there.

  2. Derk Wayne on March 9, 2021 at 11:47 pm

I never understood the point in those overpriced camping meals when you can buy noodles and meat in the actual grocery section much cheaper.

  13. Marion Hamer on March 9, 2021 at 11:59 pm

A couple of 9×12 plastic painter’s drop clothes, wrapped around a triangular frame,3 ft on a side, 6 ft long, with debris stuffed between them, edges sealed with tarp, A couple more making a sleeping bag. $3 each from lowe’s, and $5 of duct tape, cut some strips off of the plastic for cordage. A lighter, a knife a breadpan for boiling water, $20, That should be plenty, no need of food for a mere week. However, if you want, $20 of peanut butter, jelly and flour tortillas would be plenty. $40 total.

  14. Angee Allen on March 10, 2021 at 12:00 am

why would you want to pack all that in your backpack, all you needed was a sleeping bag, either a tarp and paracord, or a tent. you need either water tabs or filter straw,. you only need one pot and they have ones that are connected to canteens. you need a foldup saw,a axe and a knife. as for food, you can make your own food, like oatmeal,in a baggie enough for 7 days, dehydrated foods, those food packs wont last 7 days, before you post a video about bushcrafting, do it right, maybe watch some real bushcrafting tubers…… because you need to learn, you spent to much money on to much crap you didnt need….you just needed minimal amount of things. i am not trying to come at you rude i was just saying,,,,,i was taught different..one more thing a wax candle and vaseline and cotton swabs or wood. wood matches,or fire rod, flint steel, fire rod etc, and one more fishing stuff.flashlight, headlamp

    Thats over $100

  22. Benjamin Perry on March 10, 2021 at 12:12 am

Love how you said "i was under $100 and had some money left so, i bought bells, a headlamp, and fishing hooks. 1st things first, you were at $106.32 before you even mentioned those items, you weren’t under $100 and you most certainly couldn’t have had money left out of the said $100… Those items would have put you at $110.51 assuming you paid $2.97 for the hooks. 2nd, we haven’t added tax yet. Assuming your sales tax is 6% like WV, you would have been at $117.14. Some cities like adding their own sales tax on top of state tax but, I’ll leave that alone. Finally, my 7 year old could survive 7 days in the woods with less than that, by himself! I like the video but, it’s nothing truly special.

You really didn’t need so many edged tools. What about a compass or multiple fire starting items? Also very important, first aid items. Good luck out there! Hopefully a 7-11 nearby.

  26. Dayday gaming on March 10, 2021 at 12:18 am

I’m still using my camping and survival gear my grandfather used in the thirties and forties. My dad used them and he passed them on to me and still going strong and were made in America and some came from his military days like his mess kit and knife. Not worth much but mean the world to me.

    Hey!!!
Why we can not find this survival kit in Walmart at my country El Salvador, Central America???

  49. Kenneth Shoemaker on March 10, 2021 at 12:44 am

You wasted your time and money on this. For 100$ you could buy stuff that you could have actually used.. plus you spent way to much on your food… there is nothing… I repeat NOTHING.. ozark trail makes that you should have ever considered.. your mistake was going to the camping section first.. things you did well.. the water filter.. things you failed at… everything else

  50. Mudkingz on March 10, 2021 at 12:45 am

I could see the tree being stronger then the ozark Chinese machite.
